Napa Valley

Napa Valley

What is the best place to take a mini-vacation? Napa, of course!

A perfect, short trip to treat yourself with after a long week or for just a quick getaway with friends.

Getting to Napa:

Living in Southern California getting to Napa takes a little more effort than living in Northern California. We had taken a Southwest flight to San Jose Airport (we booked tickets last minute and San Jose was the best option at the time, I would suggest Oakland airport because it is closer). We looked into taking an Uber, but one-way was about $70.00. We decided to rent a car instead just because we needed to get around in Napa as well. Once we got the car it took a little less than 2 hours.

Mumm Napa:

It is beautiful. It is surrounded by a field (great for a quick photo shoot). We got there around 4:00 p.m. and chose to sit outside on the patio decorated with lights. Most of us had gotten the sparkling wine flight that included: Brute Prestige, Brut Rosé, and Cuvee M. Our server was super friendly and made the experience very enjoyable. He would constantly check up on us to make sure we were okay. And watching the sunset while drinking sparkling wine was so amazing.

Across the sitting area is an art studio. We did not get the chance to check it out, but we heard a lot of great reviews about it. I would definitely check it out if you have time.

What to do once the vineyards have closed:

Well honestly there is not much, but after a long day, it felt nice to take it easy.

We stayed at River Terrace Inn, the location was right near downtown Napa, where a lot of the shops and restaurants were located. Aside from the ideal location, we were not thrilled with the service. The front desk was rude, both times we interacted with them, which really makes a lasting impression. The rooms were okay, nothing special there.  It is hard for me to recommend staying at this hotel, just because of how poorly we were treated.

For dinner, we wanted to try something different so we went to Tarla Mediterranean Bar + Grill. I personally loved it. We got the Greek Dip Trio (which was huge, but perfect for sharing), a Greek Salad (super fresh and tasty), and the Grilled Chicken Kebab. If you are in the mood for some Mediterranean food this is the place to try.

xox,

Nan
